Functional analysis of identified hub genes. Comparisons of enriched gene ontology (GO) terms were performed in identified hub genes (A). Expression pattern of hub genes upon AHL mix priming and following challenge with 100 nM flg22 for 2 or 24 h (74 h; 96 h) was extracted from Duan et al. (2023). Differentially expressed genes were marked with symbol “ + ”, this includes genes with absolute value of fold change ≥ 1.5 between the solvent control and AHL mix, whereas genes with absolute value of fold change < 1.5 were marked with “– “. According to the gene expression pattern, only genes correlated to AHL mix were clustered into 8 groups (B). Distribution of differentially regulated genes within each hub gene group (greenmix, turquoisemix and yellowmix) was highlighted with green color (B). Within the yellowmix set, which is strongly correlated to AHL mix, genes related to the GO term: defense response to bacterium (GO: 0042742) represented the biggest group, followed by defense response to fungus (GO: 0050832) and regulation of response to external stimulus (GO: 0032101). Those three GO terms shared 55 core genes (C)
